Shipping

Every first-run TagHawk DX kit ships free, worldwide, via ZapExpress Standard — tracked door-to-door.

  • Estimated delivery: 7–12 days for most destinations. Remote regions may take a few days longer.
  • Tracking: your tracking link is emailed the moment the kit leaves our fulfillment partner, and shows the live route to your door.
  • Packaging: kits ship in the printed retail box, foam-nested. Keep the box — it carries your unit number and serial record.

First-run kits are packed in small batches, in serial order. Your dispatch email includes your unit number and serial record.

Returns & buyer protection

Every order is covered by buyer protection: a full refund if the kit arrives damaged, incomplete, or not as described. Open a case within 15 days of delivery from the contact form below — include your serial and a photo.

  • Unstarted kits (nothing bonded, nothing trimmed) can be returned within 30 days for a refund. We cover return shipping if the fault is ours.
  • Started builds can't be returned as new — once the shell is bonded, that TagHawk is yours. Check the fit of every part before you glue.
  • Missing parts are replaced free. No need to return anything; just tell us which part and your serial.
Disputes: if we can't sort it out within 5 business days, reply "escalate" on your ticket and it goes to a senior support tech, who reads the whole thread from the top.
Warranty

All electronic modules — XL display, sound FX board, tag sensor, radio link, harness — are covered for 90 days from delivery against defects.

  • Register your build at zap.toys/register with the serial on your box back panel to activate coverage.
  • Because this is a builder's kit, wear from assembly, sanding, adhesives and modification is normal and expected — that's what it's for. It does not void the electronics warranty.
  • What does void it: reversed battery polarity, water, and soldering directly onto module boards (harness mods are fine).
Builder FAQ
Do I need to solder anything?
No. Every connector in the harness is keyed and clicks in one way. A soldering iron is only listed in the manual for optional custom mods.
What batteries does it take?
2× 18650 lithium cells, not included. Use protected cells from a reputable brand, and mind the polarity marks in the battery bay. A charger is not included either.
What glue should I use?
CA glue (super glue) or 2-part epoxy, your choice. CA is faster; epoxy is more forgiving. Either way: dry-fit first, thin bead, ventilated area. Step 2 of the manual walks through it.
Is it really compatible with pro tagger gear?
Yes — TagHawk modules follow standard tagger pinouts and rail geometry. The XL display bolts onto most stock pro units, and pro parts graft onto the TagHawk frame. Builders do both.
How does multiplayer work? Do I need an app?
No app, no account, no pairing screen. The 2.4 GHz radio link finds other blasters automatically on boot — power on two units within about 10 m of each other and they link up.
My kit is missing a part.
Use the contact form below with your serial (S/N on the box back panel) and the part name from the manual checklist. Replacements ship free — no return needed.
When is Production Run №2?
Run №2 is being tooled now and goes on sale once the first run of 500 is fully claimed. Join the waitlist — waitlist members are emailed before units go on sale.
Where does my kit ship from?
From our production partner's fulfillment hub. Wherever you are, shipping is free and tracked, and the estimate is the same: 7–12 days.
